When a child feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsafe, learning and social engagement become difficult \u2014 not because they lack skills, but because their nervous system is working hard to cope. Our role is to understand what each child\u2019s body is communicating and to support them from that place.<\/p><p data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1786\">Our work is grounded in a relationship-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach. We look beyond behaviour to understand the sensory, emotional, and environmental factors shaping a child\u2019s experiences. Rather than asking children to fit into systems that don\u2019t work for them, we adapt environments, expectations, and interactions to better support their regulation and participation.<\/p><p data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"2147\">Therapy at It\u2019s Just Play is playful, intentional, and attuned. Sessions are guided by each child\u2019s interests and strengths, while gently supporting the foundations needed for everyday life. This comes through regulation, body awareness, attention, play skills, and social engagement. Progress may look subtle, but these small moments often create the biggest shifts over time.<\/p><p data-start=\"2149\" data-end=\"2437\">We work closely with families and educators, recognising that children thrive when the adults around them feel informed, supported, and confident. Collaboration is central to our practice, ensuring strategies are practical, respectful, and meaningful within a child\u2019s real-world contexts.<\/p><p data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2683\">At It\u2019s Just Play, we honour each child as they are. I&#8217;m Breanna, a mother of two girls and have proudly served as an occupational therapist since 2016.<span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-4); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>Throughout my career, I&#8217;ve had the privilege of working across various settings, including acute hospitals, early intervention programmes, international schools, and private therapy centres. My journey has allowed me to support numerous neurodiverse children both in the comfort of their homes and within school environments. As a mother of a preemie, I have a special affinity for working with babies born prematurely or with congenital conditions.\u00a0<\/p><p>A cornerstone of my philosophy is to facilitate and empower individuals to actively engage in activities and roles that role deep personal meaning for them.<\/p><p>I deeply appreciate the importance of fostering genuine connections and harnessing the unique strengths of each individual I work with, as well as their families.
